Job Summary:

MetroSys is seeking a seasoned Cisco Network Engineer to support our client’s network infrastructure in Dallas, TX. This is a flexible, contract-to-hire role designed for a senior-level engineer who can provide fractional support while bringing deep Cisco expertise to ensure network stability, performance, and security. The engineer will be expected to provide onsite support as needed, assisting with troubleshooting, design, configuration, and optimization of Cisco-based environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite network support for Cisco routing, switching, and wireless solutions.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues efficiently to minimize downtime.

  • Assist with network design, configuration updates, and best practices implementation.

  • Monitor and maintain network availability, security, and performance.

  • Partner with in-house IT teams on escalated support tickets and knowledge transfer.

  • Document network changes, incidents, and provide recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Network Engineer, with strong Cisco focus.

  • Expertise with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching, routing, and wireless solutions.

  • Working knowledge of Cisco ASA/Firepower or Palo Alto firewalls preferred.

  • Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

  • Cisco CCNP or higher certification strongly preferred.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a fractional/part-time role.

  • Strong documentation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
