Responsibilities:
Voice Infrastructure Transition:
- Assist in planning and executing the transition from Nortel to Cisco voice infrastructure.
- Evaluate existing Nortel voice systems and develop migration strategies to Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) platform.
VoIP Configuration and Implementation:
- Configure and deploy Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and other Cisco voice components to support VoIP services.
- Integrate Cisco voice systems with existing network infrastructure and applications.
Voice Network Optimization:
- Optimize voice network performance and quality of service (QoS) parameters to ensure optimal voice call quality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve voice-related issues and outages in a timely manner.
Documentation and Training:
- Document configurations, procedures, and best practices for voice system administration and operation.
- Provide training and support to end-users and IT staff on the use and management of Cisco voice systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in voice engineering and telecommunications, with expertise in Nortel and Cisco voice systems.
- Strong understanding of VoIP protocols and technologies, including SIP, RTP, and H.323.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection, and Cisco Voice Gateways.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
Working Conditions:
- This is a part-time position
- Fully remote
- Flexible working hours based on project requirements.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for project deployments and migrations.
