Voip Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Voice Infrastructure Transition:

   • Assist in planning and executing the transition from Nortel to Cisco voice infrastructure.
   • Evaluate existing Nortel voice systems and develop migration strategies to Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) platform.

2. VoIP Configuration and Implementation:

   • Configure and deploy Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and other Cisco voice components to support VoIP services.
   • Integrate Cisco voice systems with existing network infrastructure and applications.

3. Voice Network Optimization:

   • Optimize voice network performance and quality of service (QoS) parameters to ensure optimal voice call quality and reliability.
   • Troubleshoot and resolve voice-related issues and outages in a timely manner.

4. Documentation and Training:

   • Document configurations, procedures, and best practices for voice system administration and operation.
   • Provide training and support to end-users and IT staff on the use and management of Cisco voice systems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in voice engineering and telecommunications, with expertise in Nortel and Cisco voice systems.
• Strong understanding of VoIP protocols and technologies, including SIP, RTP, and H.323.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection, and Cisco Voice Gateways.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Working Conditions:

• This is a part-time position 
• Fully remote
• Flexible working hours based on project requirements.
• Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for project deployments and migrations.
