Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Storage Engineer with expertise in NetApp and EMC storage solutions. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our storage infrastructure to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability. Additionally, experience with VMWare, UCS, or Flexpod is highly desirable for this role.

Responsibilities:

  1. Storage Design and Architecture:

    • Design and architect storage solutions based on business requirements and industry best practices.
    • Evaluate and recommend storage technologies and platforms, with a focus on NetApp and EMC solutions.

  2. Implementation and Deployment:

    • Configure and deploy NetApp and EMC storage systems, including SAN and NAS arrays.
    • Install and configure storage management software and tools to monitor and manage storage resources effectively.

  3. Integration with Virtualization Platforms:

    • Integrate storage solutions with virtualization platforms such as VMWare, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization.
    • Configure storage arrays to support virtualized environments and implement storage-level features like snapshots and replication.

  4. Performance Optimization:

    • Monitor storage performance and capacity utilization, identifying areas for optimization and improvement.
    • Implement performance tuning strategies to enhance storage performance and reliability.

  5. Backup and Disaster Recovery:

    • Design and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions for storage infrastructure.
    • Configure and manage replication, snapshot, and backup policies to ensure data protection and recovery readiness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in storage engineering, with expertise in NetApp and EMC storage solutions.
  • Strong understanding of SAN and NAS concepts, protocols, and architectures.
  • Experience with storage management software and tools, such as NetApp ONTAP and EMC Unisphere.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms like VMWare, and experience integrating storage with virtualized environments.
  • Knowledge of UCS or Flexpod architectures is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a contract position with flexible hours based on projects.
  • Fully remote. 
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for project implementations and maintenance activities.
